After fund-raising to build a new playground, the remainder of funds needed for playground equipment was generously donated by the Victoria Snelgrove Memorial Fund. The Playground is in honor of Victoria Snelgrove, who on October 21, 2004, attended a Red Sox celebration in Boston and was tragically killed. In her memory, the Snelgrove family has set up a memorial fund. A graduate of East Bridgewater, Torie went on to attend Emerson College, where her dream was to pursue a career in broadcast journalism. It is the goal of the Victoria Snelgrove Memorial Fund to help enhance the lives of others.
