MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

3/2/22

“Manie Musicale" is an annual competition of songs modeled after the NCAA March Madness basketball tournament in the U.S.  The French students fill out brackets to try to predict which of sixteen songs will win the "championship".  Then, once the tournament starts, students vote for their favorite songs to see who wins.  Songs include a variety of contemporary Francophone artists from around the world. You can find more information about this year's artists and songs by scanning the QR codes on informational posters around the school. Voting for Match 1 begins today! If you want to learn more about the participating songs and artists and vote for your favorites, enroll in the Manie Musicale Google Classroom with the Classroom code that is on your screen right now.

Bracelets are being sold for $5 to benefit our very own Bella DuBois.  If you are interested in purchasing one, please see Stephanie Costa during Powerblock  in room 212, or email her at 24stephaniecosta@wbridgewaterschools.org.

There will be a Mr. WB meeting for the Mr. WB contestants and girl dancers this Thursday, March 3rd in the auditorium during PB.  Backstage and technical crew do not need to attend we will meet at a later date.

Enviro-Minute

<Intro jingle and footprint background>

Emma: An ecological footprint is a handy way to measure the impact of a person or community on the environment, expressed as the amount of land required to sustain their use of natural resources.  The more resources you consume, the greater your impact on the environment.  Generally, we want to REDUCE our impact, in order to leave Earth in a less disturbed state.  Resources can include the amount of water we use, oil we burn, and electricity we use.  These all contribute to your ecological footprint.

Natalie: That’s right Emma!  Many other factors go into your eco foot print as well, such as the amount and type of food you eat, how much you drive, how many people live in your home, and even what products you buy. To reduce your footprint you can stop using single use plastics, switch to renewable energy like solar panels, drive less, or even reduce your consumption of meat. Even if your actions are small we can all do our part to reduce our ecological footprints.
