During the Adolescent years, the child you once knew so well, is changing rapidly physically, mentally, and socially. It is very common for parents and teenagers to experience difficulty with understanding each other. Learning more about Adolescent Development, is a great tool to help you with understanding your teenager. Two major characteristics of adolescent development are their focus on social success and their search for identity; Who am I? ; Where do I belong; How do I appear to others? Over-identification with ideals of cliques and crowds; A strong need for approval and appreciation. There are many resources within our communities and environments that can also help us understand these shifting times. Listed below are various resources that may be helpful to your teenager and family.
