\r\nAttention Book Club members! We will be having our next meetingtoday during PB in the Learning Commons. Please reach out to Ms. Newell if you have any questions.
\r\nNow is a good time to clean out those closets and drawers. Our clothing drive is running for the rest of the month. We are taking new and gently used clothes sizes newborn-adult medium. The drop-off bin is near the main office.
\r\nSenior Ball is coming up! If you have not paid yet and are planning to attend, see Mr. McMurray or Mrs. MacMillan today in order for you to be included in the count. Don’t miss out on the fun!
\r\nIt’s time once again to be schooled about our planet. Here’s Enviro Club member Stephanie to tell us all about spring.
\r\n<run Envirominute intro> Yesterday was the first official day of spring! It's called the "vernal equinox", when the sun is directly over the equator and we have equal amounts of day and night. From today until September 21st, the daylight will be longer than the nighttime, reaching a maximum daylight length around June 21st.
\r\nBut what about what's happening in nature? Well, birds are singing, and migratory species like the colorful warblers are returning. Hibernating animals like chipmunks and woodchucks are starting to arise from their slumber. For plants, we won't see leaves on trees until late april. But the forest floor will soon be alive with early bloomers, like the crocus flower, the hairy bittercress, and the beloved skunk cabbage!
\r\nSo there's plenty of activity happening in early spring! Be on the lookout for it. Ok that's it for today. I'm Stephanie, and THAT's an Environmental Minute!
\r\nThe Wildcat cafe is serving ravioli or lasagna with meatballs and garlic bread, BBQ pulled pork and Tony’s French bread pizza today for lunch along with a variety of freshly made wraps and salads. The featured grab and go this week is a buffalo chicken wrap.
\r\nWarm funnel cakes, soft pretzels, caramel apple nachos, smoothies, assorted pastries, egg sandwiches, uncrustables and the snack rack are available at break.
