Rebecca Fidler, LMHC from Taproots will be leading 3 presentations today, October 13th to our student body on: Healthy Decision Making & UNDERSTANDING THE RISKS of VAPING

Seniors!  Tree Top Adventure permission slips can be picked up in the Guidance office.  If you are climbing the ropes, the cost is $65.  For students who want to attend but do not wish to climb, the cost is $20 for transportation.  Permission slips and payment are due to Mr. Hyde or Mrs. MacMillan no later than Friday, October 20.

October is breast cancer awareness month. Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the world. There are over 2 million reported cases a year globally. That means 25% of all cancer cases in the world were reported as breast cancer. Countries like Belgium, The Netherlands, France, Denmark, and New Zealand saw some of the highest breast cancer rates. The Global Citizens Club is looking to support the World Cancer Research Fund by selling bracelets.  The World Cancer Research Fund is a not-for-profit organization that leads and unifies a network of cancer prevention charities. These charities are based in Europe, the Americas and Asia, giving a global voice to inform people about cancer prevention. The Global Citizens will be selling Bracelets during power-blocks this week, as well as at the powderpuff and homecoming football games. Bracelets are 2$ for 1 and 5$ for 3.  100% of proceeds will go to the World Cancer Research Fund.  Do your part to spread awareness about this important issue and support the global community

There will be a Principal’s Council meeting on Tuesday, October 26th during powerblock in the Guidance Conference Room

Vineyard Farm in West Bridgewater is having a fall festival on October 21 and 22nd and are looking for volunteers for the following hours: 10-2 and 2-6 on Saturday.  On Sunday the hours would be: 10-1 or 1-4. These volunteer hours can be applied to your community service hours.  If interested, there will be sheet in the front office to sign up.

Trunk Or Treat is back! This yearly event, run by the National Honor Society will be held on Oct. 28th from 3-5 PM.

Saturday October 21st is Homecoming.  There will be a full day of soccer games on the field and the dance at night.  Tickets will be on sale starting Tuesday October 10th.  The cost is $15 in advance and $20 at the door.  If you plan on bringing a guest they must be signed up in the office by Friday Oct 13th!

WB best buddies meets this Friday at power block for some gym time games.  Please see Mrs. Brogna to join in and be a buddy.

Drum Circle Will NOT be taking place this Friday October 13th 

Inclusion Matters is looking for a student representative for their Special Education Parent Advisory Council who is currently enrolled in Grades 4-12 in West Bridgewater Public Schools or placed in an out-of-district placement by the WB Schools.  This student would be passionate about improving opportunities for students with special needs and committed to attending Inclusion Matters Board Meetings.  The application deadline is Friday, October 20th.  Contact - InclusionMattersMA@gmail.com for more information or to submit your application.

PowderPuff practices will resume next week on Tuesday and Thursday.  These practices are for players, coaches and cheerleaders.  Please meet Mr. Campagna outside of the main office before heading out to the turf.

Are you feeling stressed and overwhelmed?  Need a little breathing space?  Join YOGA CLUB!  It will be held in the Learning Commons on the first Thursday evening of each month from 6:45-8pm starting November 2.  Nurse Diedrichsen will be having an informational meeting during power block this Friday for anyone who is interested.  Mrs. Brogna will continue her power block yoga every Tuesday as well.  At this time both yoga opportunities are open to grades 9-12 only.

The Robotics club will have their next meeting on Monday, October 16th after school in the robotics room. If you are a high school student and are interested in joining, please feel free to stop by or talk with Ms. Brennan. 

Have you always wanted to know what it is like to be a star on the stage, to act, dance and sing?! Or are you creative and want to help with costumes and set design? Or want to make sure the show runs smoothly with set crew? Then look no further and check out WILDCAT PLAYERS, for this year’s spring musical! The spring musical is open to all students in grades 7-12. We will be having two interest meetings on Oct. 24th in the Auditorium during powerblock and then after school in Room 105. We hope to announce what show we will perform and give vital information on how to be a part of both cast and crew! NO need to commit right now, just come and learn about the program! We want to work with all students, so if you are interested and are concerned about sports or conflicts, please check it out, we hope to ease any obstacle that might prevent you from showing off your talents! To celebrate the last day of National School Lunch Week, “it’s pick a pizza topping day” in the cafeteria. Fill out a ballot with your favorite pizza topping for a chance to win a prize. The topping with the most votes will be served on Friday, October 20th.
