MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

The boys basketball team lost a close one at home against Seekonk last night. Jag Garces played tough defense and rebounded well for the wildcats. Luke Destrampe and Noah Schneeweis forced many turnovers by Seekonk as they played with great intensity.  Thomas Stapleton took two big charges throughout the game. Nick Navin, Ben Stapleton and Charlie Mallett stepped up for WB.  The boys play at Old Rochester on Friday afternoon. 

Students and staff are encouraged to come to the cafeteria during both middle and high school break time to vote on their favorite gingerbread house. Students in Ms. Massa’s art  classes have been working to recreate a favorite building into a gingerbread house. Buildings can be from the real world, books, video games, or movies. Use your phone to scan the QR code and vote using the Google form. Come and check out Rapunzel's Tower, the Home Alone House, the Clock Tower from Fortnite, and Spongebob’s house, just to name a few. Vote for your favorite, the winning group wins a prize. 

The Wildcat Players Musical Theatre group will be doing ANNIE for their spring musical! A read through with cast and crew will be on Dec. 21st.

From the Guidance office - Second semester schedule changes will take place during the week of midterm exams.  Thursday 1/11 - Seniors, Friday  1/12 - Juniors, Tuesday 1/17 - Sophomores, Wednesday 1/18 - Freshman.  No students will be seen until the school day ends at 11am.  

Advisory will take place in PowerBlock this Wednesday, December 20th. Let’s promote empathy in and outside the classroom! 

Free breakfast is available daily before the bell and at the mid-morning break. Important! students getting breakfast before the bell will need to pay for any additional food at break time.

Seniors, the DAR scholarship deadline has been extended to January 2nd.  Please come to Guidance to pick up the application or download it from the Google Classroom “Class of 2024 Scholarships”.

Juniors, tomorrow is the deadline for applying for HOBY.  Bring your application to Guidance.

Today’s featured hot breakfast is pancake and sausage on a stick with tots. Other choices include a variety of pastries, soft pretzels, uncrustables, assorted breakfast sandwiches, smoothies, yogurt parfaits and the “pick 2” snack rack. For cereal lovers, check out the new cereal varieties at the speedy cereal display in front of the milk chest. 

It’s pasta time! Penne pasta with meatballs and marinara, pizza crunchers and grilled cheese on ciabatta bread with tomato soup and goldfish crackers are for lunch today.  Freshly made grab and go’s include chicken caesar salads and wraps, Mexican chicken cheddar wraps,  vegetarian mediterranean wraps, bagels w/ yogurt, turkey and ham subs and uncrustables.

Please think about reducing food waste! Only take what you think you’ll eat and put unopened juice, fruit and other sealed items in the share bins for others to enjoy.
