MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

5/21/24

Attention Freshman: Class elections will be taking place on Thursday, May 23 in the auditorium. Please go to your Power Blocks first for attendance and then you will be dismissed and sent down from there to listen to speeches and to vote. You will need your Chromebooks inorder to cast your vote.

Starting this week, all of us who eat in the cafeteria are going to become rescuers–food rescuers, that is.  In partnership with Vineyard Farm, the cafeteria now has specially lined milk crates that will be used to collect our leftover food. After you finish eating, we ask that you please put any leftovers in one of the lined crates. Vineyard Farm will pick up the filled crates every afternoon, taking what would otherwise be wasted food destined for landfills. The farm will feed many of these scraps to their farm animals and compost the rest.

Any food that you take and do not eat any part of should continue to go in the Shared Food basket. If we all do our part in this new endeavor, we will eliminate food waste in our school. What a great way to show WB Pride!

5/21 Today’s breakfast is a warm cinnamon and sugar donut.  Other choices include a variety of pastries, soft pretzels, uncrustables, assorted breakfast sandwiches, smoothies, yogurt parfaits and the “pick 2” snack rack. For cereal lovers, check out the new cereal varieties at the speedy cereal display in front of the milk chest.

It’s taco Tuesday on the menu today with a pair of soft shell beef and cheese tacos. Tony’s French bread pizza is at the pizza station and the grill is offering meatball subs. Freshly made grab and go’s include chicken caesar salads and wraps, Greek and garden salads, Buffalo chicken  wraps and salads, bagels w/ yogurt,  ham subs and uncrustables.
