The boys WB track team finished third overall in the League Championship meet on Monday. The big news was that for the first time in five years a boy from WB won an individual League Championship. In fact, there were three individual championships won. Jack Zeigel captured the high jump with a leap of 5 foot 10 inches. Landon Crowley won a pair of championships, in the 300 meters and the 55 meters. Madsen Anderson was second in the 1-mile Run. All of these athletes will continue on to the state divisional championship meet on February 16th.

The girls WB track team took first place in the MAC League and second place in the EAC overall at the League Championship meet. First time in WB history that an indoor track team has won the MAC League Meet and been co-Champions of the League. Captain Anna Trott took 1st above all competitors in the hurdles, high jump and long jump. Captain Ellie Smith smashed her mile time with an indoor PR of 5:31.27. Captain Lauren Mitcheson had another PR in the 600, Captain Maggie McCafferty had a PR in shot put, Adi Hohengasser had a PR in the 1000, Grace Schnell had a PR in the 55 and long jump. Congrats to Anna, Ellie, Lauren and Grace for qualifying for this Saturday’s Coaches Invitational!

The Wildcat Cafe is serving chicken nuggets, mashed potatoes with gravy, carrots and applecake on the hotline today. Individual cheese pizzas are at the pizza station and the grill is offering BBQ pulled pork on an onion roll and burgers. The featured grab and gos are a chicken fiesta salad bowl and a chicken bacon ranch wrap. Warm donut holes, soft pretzels and assorted breakfast sandwiches and pastries are available at break.
