Veterans Day

\r\n

Veterans Day is a Time when all Americans pay their respect and turn their thoughts to our nations’ servicemen and women, past and present who have dedicated their lives to the defense of our nations’ values and principles.  It is a moment when we need to remember that we are currently at war and that our service people are in harm's way while fulfilling their duties honorably so that we can be safe at home.

\r\n

Veterans Day observed on November 11 is an official United States holiday honoring armed service veterans.  It coincides with other holidays such as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day, which are celebrated in other parts of the world and also mark the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918.

\r\n

Veterans Day is not to be confused with Memorial Day.  Veterans Day celebrates the service of all U.S. military veterans, while Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving.

\r\n

So keep in your hearts and thoughts our veterans past and present, and remember to thank our proud vets!
