The French Honor Society would like to thank all of the students and families who brought in items for the Haitian Health Foundation. Thanks to your generosity, our Collection Drive was extremely successful. Please see Mrs. Eddlem in 214 if you have any items that you wish to donate. Boxes will be packed up this week, and delivered to the Haitian Health Foundation next weekend.
Powerblock yoga is back! After a great turnout last week, Mrs. Dietrichsen and Mrs. Brogna will be offering PB yoga Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, weather permitting. Your power block teacher will provide you with a link to join our Google classroom, where we will share information and post sign ups. Please sign up for a session through Google classroom each day you plan to join us.

The WB Athletic Awards night will be held next Wednesday, June 2nd. All athletes who received a varsity letter this year will be contacted this week with more information. Ms. Hammel will also hang a varsity letter winner list in the Athletic Hallway. Please see Ms. Hammel in the Athletic office with any questions or you can also talk with your coach.
Girls Varsity tennis lost a tough match to Westport yesterday. Epic matches from Elise Puliafico and Emma Marchetti had fans enthralled during their close to 3 hour outings. Great performances by Emily Cruickshank as well as the doubles teams of Rachael Smith and Riley Bain and Olivia Crandall and Kaley Krivelow
The boys tennis team picked up a convincing victory over Westport 5 to 0. Graham Russo, Tommy Sheedy, and Chase Ryan won all their sets by all of the mblanking their opponents 6 to 0 and 6 to 0. The doubles teams of Charlie Gee, Aidan Wells, CJ Smith, and Noah Schneeweisall won in straight sets! Awesome job boys tennis!
The varsity softball team entered the last inning trailing Tri-County 5-3. The girls scored 6 runs in the final inning and won 9-7. Alexis Anderson had 6 strikeouts in the win. Kelsey Connors had 4 hits with 2 runs batted in while scoring 2 herself. Coleen O’Toole had 3 hits and coached well from the dugout. Ashley, I mean Amanda, Jacques played great defense in center field while seeing very sick even though she faked smiled every time Mr. Hyde asked how she was feeling.
The JV softball team played an exciting game against Tri-County that ended in a tie 17-17. Makenna Walsh and Kate Morrill had a great game with two hits including RBI doubles and scoring two runs each. Kylee Mulvey was an animal in left field catching every ball that came to her. Tal Dottin scored the game tying run in the bottom of the 6th by stealing home on a wild pitch. The girls look forward to a rematch against Tri-County on Tuesday.
Girls Track defeated Diman 75 to 59. The team needed at least one of the relay teams to win and both teams pulled off dominating races. First, the 4x100m team of Rachael Geniuch, Kylie Lewis, Lasadia Gurley, and Ava Xayavongran a blistering 52.7 second race to clinch the meet! The 4x400m team of Aly Bassett, Sammie O’Neil, Julianna James, and Grace Polen followed up with another dominating win to help seal the victory. Other outstanding performances were Rachael Genuich’s crazy fast 100 meter win, Anna Trott’s dominating 100m Hurdle race, and Grace Schnell’s outstanding Triple Jump win.
The WB Varsity Baseball defeated Tri-County 14-0 (5 inn) behind the stellar pitching of Nathan Razza. Razza threw 66 pitches over 4 inns, allowing 1 infield hit, walked none and fanned 8. Paul McCafferty pitched a scoreless inning allowing 1 hit while striking out 2. Joey LeClerc and Jon Dragonetti had 3 hits apiece for WB. Dragonetti had a long triple and LeClerc scored 4 times from his lead off spot. Conor Murphy had 2 hits and 2 RBIs and McCafferty added a pair of hits including a grand slam. James Harris was excellent behind the plate in his first start at catcher for the varsity. WB is now 3-0 and will next play at home on Tuesday.
The JV Baseball team picked up their second win of the season over Tri county. They trailed by as many as 6 runs but came back to win 10-9. Great job battling back!
The weight room is open to any WB student Monday through Thursday from 4-6pm. Anyone that is interested please see Ms. Hammel in the athletic office.
(5/24) Today’s lunch is Chicken ziti and broccoli with garlic bread, individual cheese pizza and cheeseburgers. Fresh grab and gos include a variety of wraps and salads including chicken bacon ranch. Scrambled egg and cheddar wraps with tots, smoothies, soft pretzels, assorted breakfast sandwiches and pastries are available at break. All meals are free through the rest of the year.
