Track and Field Results: Both the boys and girls teams were most victorious in their quest to defeat Bristol Plymouth.
The boys meet was a tight one to start. They had in the first half, not gonna lie. But then the WB boys pulled away and finished with a soul-crushing 88-47 victory. BP must’ve felt like someone rammed a fist into their stomach.
Ben Fuller pulled off a hat trick (is that a thing in track?), winning all 4 events he competed in. Holy smokes!
Tommy Perna took 1st in the high jump, 110 hurdles, and 4x100, then added a 2nd in the long jump. Hot dog!
The distance squad of Madsen Anderson, Bryce Leighton, Christian Fredrickson, and Eric Ames took care of business in their events, scoring vital points for the team. Aaaand boom goes the dynamite.
The girls won with a score of 103 to 32 with several athletes picking up points. Dorothea McGrath suffered through the heat in two distance races placing second in the 2-Mile and third in the 800 meter. Janella Jacobs won the Shot Put with a throw of 27 feet, 9.5 inches. Other winners included Kylie Lewis in the 200m, Mady May in the High Jump, Aly Bassett in the 400 meter hurdles and Grace Schnell in the Long Jump. The girls are now 3-0.
The JV Baseball team lost to Westport 6-3 yesterday. They did not make it easy on Westport by scoring 2 runs and stranding two runners on base in the bottom of the 7th. There will be no practice today because of graduation. See you all on Tuesday.
