MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Any high school students interested in joining the debate team should come to the first meeting on Wednesday after school in room 202. Please see Mr. Ennis with any questions. 

The Minecraft Club will have its first meeting after school on Thursday. We play all sorts of video games and will plan some cool field trips. Stop by the computer lab and see Mrs. Edgar with any questions. The computer lab is now located across from the library in the CC room.

The MIAA is holding its 21st annual Sportsmanship Essay/Multimedia Contest.  

CONTEST GUIDELINES:

  • PARTICIPANTS Contest is open to students in grades 9-12

  • ESSAY ENTRIES Must be typed, double spaced, and contain no more than 500 words

  • MULTIMEDIA ENTRIES Must be a video that is no longer than 3 minutes

  • CONTEST THEME Entries must answer the prompt “Title IX and sportsmanship make high school sports better because ….”

PRIZES:

·         First Place ($400) and Runner-Up ($200) prizes will be presented in two categories (essay and multimedia).

·         Contest winners will present their entries as honored guests during the 27th Annual MIAA Sportsmanship Summit.

·         First Place and Runner-Up entries in both categories will be available on the MIAA website.

CONTEST DEADLINE AND SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:

·         All entries must be received by 12:00 pm on Friday, October 15, 2021

  • All entries, essay and multimedia, must be emailed to dharrington@miaa.net

Any student interested in joining Video Club, we will have an informational meeting on Monday after school in the TV Studio. The Video Club is open to all students grades 7-12. Interested in making great video content? Already love making videos? Want to make them better? Stop by Monday and find out what the Video Club is all about!

Any student interested in joining Model United Nations, we will have our informational meeting this Friday during power block in the learning commons. This club is open to all students grades 7-12.  If you love debating, problem solving, and interacting with others to resolve global issues then this may be the right club for you. Stop in to find out more about model UN! 

The High School Math Club will have its first meeting this Thursday, September 16 after school in Mr. Hyde’s room.  The team will begin practicing for its first meet of the year.  The club is open to all high school students.  Please see Mr. Sylvain with any questions.

 

Are you passionate about social justice and helping those in society? If so then join ACTION club!  During club meetings, we will be focusing on important issues in society such as oppression of minority groups, ableism, racial and LGBTQ+ justice, and working towards equality, as well as educating others on these issues. This is a safe place for people to come together and share their experiences. Anybody from any grade is welcome to join! Our first meeting will be today during power-block in the band room! New members are always welcome anytime.

Any sophomore, junior, or senior interested in purchasing a class ring can pick up a ring information packet and order form from Mr. Winchell in Room 215.  Class ring orders will be taken on Thursday, September 23rd from 4:30-6:00pm in the lobby and during lunches on Friday, September 24th.

The golf team won at Norwood Country Club against Norfolk Aggie by a score of 7 to 2. Tyler Bisbee had a nice round with 3 birdies. Zachary Bellody was inches away from a hole in one, but drained the Eagle putt and won the hole for the wildcats. Tommy Sheedy, Ben Astor and Vinny Centrella had dominating wins over their opponents. Great job WB golf!!!

The boys soccer team beat mashpee by the score 4 to 0. scoring for wb derek thorburn had 2goals and Ben Fuller and  Colin Shamey had one apiece.The defense had its third shutout with Randy Pratt Chase Ryan /Ryan Hulme and Ryan McGrath and keeper Aiden Reynolds playing strong in the back for the teams 3rd shut out. team record 3 wins 0 loses. 

Anyone interested in playing boys ice hockey this year there will be a meeting after school tomorrow, Wednesday,  9/15 at WB. Location TBA.

(Sept 14) The Wildcat Cafe is Chicken parm pasta with a garlic bread stick, hotdogs and Tony’s French bread pizza at lunch along with freshly made grab and go wraps, subs and salads. This week’s featured wrap is Buffalo chicken. Breakfast choices include warm sugared donuts, soft pretzels, breakfast sandwiches and assorted pastries. All meals are free but make sure to take at least one serving of fruit or vegetable.
