WB is kicking off its first “Out of the DARK” relay for mental health- and now is the time to sign up!  This all night event takes place on Friday, April 29th, from 7pm to sunrise.  Your donation of $25 will go towards funding future SEL programs at WB.  Sign up with a team, club or group of friends and walk the night to raise awareness for mental health.  Check your email inbox for more information and to sign up and please see Mrs. Brogna with any questions.

Jake: Last month, the U.S. Senate approved a bill that would end the switching back and forth from Daylight Saving to standard time.  As of now, this proposal still needs to pass in the House of Representatives to become law.

\r\n

Nate: That’s great!  Daylight Saving totally slaps!

\r\n

Jake:  Hold up there, Nate. That would mean the clocks would not “fall back” in November, which is when we usually switch back to standard time.

\r\n

Nate:  Ah, I see. So we’d continue to get more sunlight later in the day through the winter, right?  See, Daylight Saving is lit!

\r\n

Jake: Is it though?  If we don’t switch to standard time in November, the sun will rise very late in the morning.  In December, it wouldn’t rise until around 8:30.  We’d be doing 1st block in dark!

\r\n

Nate: Hmm… that’s the opposite of lit.  Eh, I still like it.

\r\n

Jake: I don’t.  Give me the sun in the morning.

\r\n

Nate: Well, I guess we’ll disagree to agree.

\r\n

Jake: Pretty sure that’s not how the phrase goes.  But anyway, that’s it for us.  Back to the anchors!

What is autism? Autism is a neurological and developmental variation that affects how Autistic people think, communicate, and experience the world. Lots of people know about autism, but the only real experts are Autistic people. Jim Sinclair, an Autistic self-advocate and leader in the disability justice movement, described autism in this way “autism is a way of being. It is pervasive; it colors every experience, every sensation, perception, thought, emotion, and encounter, every aspect of existence.”.
