\r\n<MADI> What does it mean to be an ally? Allies are listeners, learners, and supporters. Being an ally first and foremost means listening to and amplifying Autistic voices because Autistic people are the experts of their own experience. Allies prioritize the voices of actually Autistic people above their own, and they learn more about Autistic perspectives by seeking out content by Autistic individuals–books, articles, blog posts, social media content, artwork, and others. Likewise, allies support Autistic people and Autistic led organizations by letting the experts take the lead. Allyship also means simply being kind, accommodating, and inclusive to Autistic individuals in school and the community.
